8th December Beer Tasting Notes

Not only is the 8th December a Holy Day, and the day people come to Dublin to do their Christmas shopping. It is also Caoimhe's (my) Birthday!

To celebrate all these amazing things, I chose one of the best, yet not as well known as they deserve, breweries on the Island of Ireland.

Heaney Farmhouse Brewery is in Bellaghy,  Northern Ireland. It is the birthplace of Seamus Heaney, and where the family still live, work, and produce phenomenal beer.

Heaney The Echo Chamber

Black IPA

ABV: 6%

Appearance: Dark brown, hazy/opaque, with fluffy tan head.

Aroma: It has both roasted aromas, and tropical fruity notes.

Flavour: The malty sweetness, it balanced well with the fruity hop flavours. Lingering dark chocolate type bitterness on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium creamy bodied, with low/medium soft carbonation.
