Greenspot is a 100% pure pot still whiskey that can trace its roots to the early 1900's, when Jamesons sold whiskey to wine merchants Mitchell & Son.
The current bottling made at Midleton from 7-12 year old pure pot still whiskey, with 25% coming from sherry casks. Made in very limited quantities it is highly prized by both drinkers and whiskey writers.
'Nose: Mouth watering and fresh on one level; honey and menthol on another. Stunningly attractive. Palate: Crisp, mouth watering with a fabulous honey burst. Alarmingly sensuous. Finish: Coffee intertwines with the pot still. The thumbprint thread of honey remains. Comment: More honeyed than of old. Soft yet incredibly complex throughout. Unquestionably one of the world's great whiskeys.' Jim Murray Whisky Magazine.
