Privacy & Cookies Policy

Cookie Policy

TheCru.ie respects the privacy of all visitors to our website.

This is our policy on the use of cookies on TheCru.ie. We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect any changes in technology or legislation affecting the way we use cookies and how you, as a user, can manage them.

What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, preferences, basket items) over a period of time, so you don't have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you visit our website and also assists us in making improvements.

The Cookies we issue

Broadly speaking we issue two types of cookies, first party and third party. First party cookies are cookies issued by our webserver and are registered to our domain. They are typically required for our website to perform as you would expect.

When you browse our site you may also receive Third Party cookies which are not issued directly by us but we facilitate their deployment to enable third-party services on our site such as to measure and improve the effectiveness of our online advertising on other websites.

To make the process as transparent as possible we have grouped the cookies issued into 4 groups:

First Party Cookies;

Analytics Cookies;

Third Party Service Cookies.

In each group we have named each of the cookies issued, explained who issues them, for how long and the general purpose for their existence.

First Party Cookies

These cookies are issued by our own webserver and help the site to work the way you would expect it to work.

Cookies Necessary for the Functioning of the Store:

XSRF-TOKEN A security token used to prevent Cross Site Request Forgery. Its used when posting forms to check that request came from our website.

remember web_{#####} A token used to keep a users login state between sessions. So if a user closes the window and reopens it later it will remember that they are logged in.

Analytics Cookies and Third Party Service Cookies

These are cookies that track how a user interacts with the pages to give us a better understanding on how to improve. These are tracked anonymously. We currently do not have any of these implemented but once we do we will update this policy to reflect the changes.

Within your browser you can choose whether you wish to accept cookies or not. Different browsers make different controls available to you and so we provide links below to popular manufacturers' instructions on how you can do this.
