The original smoked beer and Bamberg's speciality for centuries. A dark bottom-fermented lager beer, brewed with 100% smoked malt from the Schlenkerla maltings.

First mentioned in 1405, the historical Brewery Tavern Schlenkerla can be found in the middle of Bamberg, Bavaria, directly beneath the mighty cathedral. If you think the Weizen is smoky then this is smoky and his bandit. A legendary dark and aromatic German beer which achieves its smoky flavour by exposing the malt to intense, aromatic smoke from burning beech-wood logs.
